Kitchen - Mile End (2012)

An overdue update to a tired 1970's kitchen in a Mile End maisonette. A deliberate effort to repair and recycle as much of the original joinery and floor as possible by stripping all old layers of paint, tiles and vinyl away to reveal high quality timber. Two of three joinery units were reused (the third one was too damaged) with a third old wall cabinet being sourced from elsewhere. Approximately twenty percent of the floorboards were replaced due to rot and water damage. Solid timber sliding doors were re-purposed as the rear entrance doors. The original fireplace was opened up to accommodate a new freestanding oven and concealed range hood.
